Awards Night 2011

Congratulations to all students who received awards at the recent Awards Night at CCS. Well done also to the many students who were nominated. Guest speaker on the night was past pupil Stephen O'Leary, Media Analyst. The Hall of Fame award was presented to Cllr. Tim Lombard, Mayor Cork County and also a past pupil of CCS, who launched the recently published book '30 Bliain Faoi Bhláth' - 30 years of Carrigaline Community School.

In his speech, Principal, Mr. John Hourihan said that the planning stage of the new extension to the school had been completed and that work would start early next year. He stated that "this State investment in the future of education in our community is a clear indication that the Department of Education views Carrigaline Community School as a vibrant and excellent centre of learning into the future".

A special performance by the newly formed Glee Club, with guest singer Laura O'Sullivan and managed by Ms. Niamh McCarthy and Ms. Ann O'Regan was one of the highlights of the night.

The awards were coordinated by Dr. Caitríona McGrath.
