School Development Planning
Second level schools are highly complex organisations, and managing a school such as Carrigaline Community School involves a great deal of planning. School Development Planning is an integral part of life in Carrigaline Community School, and it helps us to meet numerous challenges such as improving quality and managing our changing environment. Much has been done and will continue to be done in this area. Planning is on-going process as new situations and structures regularly arise in everyday school life. Policies that have been written have to be reviewed and up-dated in the light of ever-changing circumstances, such as legislative and social changes.
School Development Planning is for everyone in the school community ~ students, teachers, management, support staff, parents and Board of Management all have a role to play. We are constantly endeavouring to find new and innovative ways of involving our partners in this process. Our Mission Statement guides everything that we do. This was re-written in 2006 and in the light of the new statement we will be re-visiting our policies and procedures regularly to ascertain if amendments are necessary. We have included a number of policies here but it should be known that this is not an exhaustive list. We have a number of policies at review stage currently. Keep an eye on this section for up-dates in the future.
