Operation Christmas Child 2009
Transition Year Students fill 635 boxes for Children in Need around the World
Operation Christmas Child is now the largest children's charity project in the world. Students collect diverse items such as colouring books, toiletries, sweets and toys for less fortunate children and these are then carefully packed into shoe boxes for distribution around the world. Almost 300,000 shoe boxes come from Ireland each year. Packing the shoe boxes is hard work but also great fun for all the students involved and they get to give something to those who are less well off. Collections for next year have already begun. Our dedicated Transiton Year students filled 635 boxes this year, under the watchful eyes of Ms. McCarthy and Ms. O'Doherty.
